How to Help

      We perpetually seek friendly, compassionate people to help out in our store. Come alone, with a group of friends, as a team, or as an organization to donate your valuable time to our mission. The list below highlights various volunteer options and we are always open to new ideas!

Volunteer Opportunities

Check-In Assistant - As teachers enter the Crayons to Classrooms store, they are required to check in at the front desk. A list of names of possible visitors will be provided. General shopping directions will need to be shared. A great opportunity for those who like to meet and greet! Mondays and Thurdays 3-6pm.

Check-Out Assistant - After teachers make their selections in the Crayons to Classrooms store, a comprehensive list will need to be completed. Since payment is not involved, making change is not necessary. However, attention to detail in completing the shopping list is required. Mondays and Thurdays 3-6pm.

Customer Service Representative - During a shopping visit, assistance is needed with various duties including help in completing teachers' shopping forms, bagging or boxing chosen items, taking shopping carts outside and helping to unload product in teachers' cars, etc. Mondays and Thurdays 3-6pm.

Data-Entry Assistant - Following a shopping visit, the items selected by the teachers will need to be entered in a data base so that accurate records can be maintained. This will require attention to detail and basic computer skills; accounting and bookkeeping skills are a plus. Hours vary as needed.

Stock Organizer - Following a shopping visit, the store shelves require evaluation. Needed stock items are taken from warehouse inventory to replenish the shelves of the store. The shelves may need to be reorganized and tidied as well as stocked. Hours vary as needed.

Inventory Aide - Following receipt of donated school/office products, items need to be sorted and in some cases cleaned. Simple inventory lists need to be created. Hours vary as needed.
