C2C Profiled on the Ohio Business Profile Program

Ohio Secretary of State Jon Husted announced that the Ohio Business Profile Program will be featuring “Nonprofit and Volunteer Businesses” throughout the month of March, and Crayons to Classrooms is one of those organizations featured.

“The nonprofit organizations operating in every community in our state are truly changing the future of Ohio and brightening people’s lives,” Secretary Husted said. “These organizations are using their business instincts to solve problems in our communities and they are making an impact.”

Launched in June 2011, Ohio Business Profile has helped raise awareness about companies registered and doing business in Ohio that are creating interesting products, offering outstanding service, contributing to their local communities and employing Ohioans in the process.  Each month, a handful of diverse businesses linked together by a common theme are featured on the Secretary of State’s website, where Ohioans are encouraged to submit companies they feel are deserving of recognition in future months.

DC2C Donates Chair Back Covers to Local School

At DC2C’s event, Are You Smarter Than a Fifth Grader, held in March of 2015, we celebrated five years of providing school supplies to classrooms in our community.  Red and yellow chair back organizers were used at the celebration event to hold program books and other important information, and demonstrated to guests how the organizers can be used in a classroom setting.  In classrooms that have limited or no desk storage options, teachers have shared that the organizers provide structure for their students, free up floor space of tripping hazards, and help students stay organized.

A special event was held on February 16, 2016 to present those chair back organizers to several classrooms at Greenmont Elementary School.  Read more about the event here.
